INTERNATIONAL SAXOPHONE FESTIVAL – COMPETITION BULLETIN

Within the framework of the International Festival, a Saxophone Competition is to be hosted at the Municipal Conservatory of Larissa. The competition will be held during the weekend of 8-9 April 2023 organized by the Greek Saxophone Association (www.saxhellas.gr), a non- profit association. The competition is open to saxophonists of all nationalities and ages.

INFORMATION FOR THE CONTESTANTS

The contestants must be at the competition venue 30 minutes prior to the opening of their corresponding category, according to the analytical program that will be announced in a timely manner, to everyone who will participate. Pianist accompanists are at candidates’ disposal. Rehearsals will take place at a venue indicated by the staff of the conservatory. The participants will receive a code number, which will indicate the order in which they will appear on stage. All the winners must be present at the award ceremony, which will be held on Sunday 9 of April, after the end of all the festival’s activities. The deadline for the applications is set on 20 of March 2023.

COMPETITION COMMITTEE

The Competition committee, which will be consisted of established soloists and educators from Greece and abroad, will be announced 15 minutes before the start of the competition of each category. Its decisions will be final and irrevocable.

PRIZE AWARDS

The Prizes are: For all categories, the 1st 2nd and 3rd place will receive a commemorative certificate along with presents (saxophones and accessories) offered from the sponsors of the event and the association. 1st winner of 2^nd ,3^rd and  4^th  category and will win a saxophone alto.

PARTICIPATION FEES FOR THE FESTIVAL AND COMPETITION

The participation fees for all categories, active members or listeners is set to 200 euros. Included in the fees are all the activities (Seminars – Masterclasses – Workshops – Lectures- Concerts), the piano accompaniment for the competition and two overnight stays at the Hotel.
